A female arabic refugee in immigration authority: She is begging to catch up with her children. They got separated. The responsible official tells her that his hands are tied. As the situation escalates the official throws the woman out of his office. A bit later, we see him, visiting his old mother. With her, we are traveling in her past – we will see what happened with her, 40 years ago in West-Berlin...The same situation, the same dialogues, the same office... The film is dealing with the tragedy of separation between children and mothers beyond cultural differences.

Lorenz Christian Köhler

Lorenz Christian Kohler was born in Eisenach in 1972. After finishing school he studied Acting at the The Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art in Berlin. 1999 till 2001 he was engaged at the Faust-Ensemble by Peter Stein. After that he worked as an Actor in various Theater- and Filmproductions in Germany. 2004 he founded, together with his partner Nanda Ben Chaabane, the Company for theater- and filmproduction Drehbuhne Berlin. The first Production of the Company “The little Prince” turned to a hit in Berlin and in Germany and was shown over 600 times. 2011 this stage piece was adapted to a film, also under the direction of Lorenz Chr. Kohler. All theater productions, in which Lorenz mainly works as Director, are combinations between Theater and Film. His last work on stage was an adaption of Junglebook at the tropical houses of the Botanical Garden in Berlin.
